The chipping rate of Digi spread spectrum modules

Problem Resolution

 

Chipping rates are related to the amount of bandwidth taken up by Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum radios. Most Digi radios use Frequency-Hopping Spread Spectrum to communicate. Frequency channels ranging between 25 and 50 independent frequencies between 902 and 928 MHz. We also provide a 25 channel 2.4GHz unit.

The XBee/XBee-PRO radios utilize DSSS technology. The XBee/XBee-PRO uses 8 chips/bit, and utilizes a bandwidth of 250kbps, for a total of 2 Mega-chips/s.

The XPress Ethernet Bridge also utilizes DSSS technology and currently chips at 1.536Mega-chips/s.
