You can use the "AwRescue" command-line utility to reset a legacy AnywhereUSB/5 to factory default settings, which simply disables the DHCP client and gives the unit the default static IP address / subnet mask of 192.168.254.222 / 255.255.0.0.
NOTE: AwRescue will NOT reset the password, if you are using the older AnywhereUSB Configuration Utility with the (no longer supported) password feature.
The AwRescue utility is only applicable to the particular situation where a (legacy) AnywhereUSB/5 is configured with the DHCP client enabled and it cannot get an IP address from a DHCP server for some reason. In that particular situation, the unit may "hang" indefinitely trying to get an IP address from a DHCP server. The symptom of this would be the System Status LED being solid orange, and the 5 Port LEDs all off.
On the other hand, if the System Status LED is blinking green (regardless of the behavior of the 5 Port LEDs), this indicates that the unit has an IP address, so the AwRescue utility would not work. There would be no reason to use AwRescue in this scenario because you could re-configure the unit's network settings by clicking the Configure button in the AnywhereUSB Configuration Utility.
All other (newer) AnywhereUSB models:
(AnywhereUSB/2, AnywhereUSB/5 G2, AnywhereUSB/5 M, AnywhereUSB TS44, AnywhereUSB/14)
These models can be factory reset either via their Web UI or front panel reset button.
Factory reset procedure, using front panel reset button:
1. Disconnect power from the AnywhereUSB.
2. Hold down the front panel Reset button.
3. While holding the Reset button down, connect power to the AnywhereUSB.
4. Wait about 10 seconds, until the System Status LED blinks a Red 1-5-1 code.
5. Release the Reset button.
